Braintree Man Arrested for Sex Trafficking in Boston
In a shocking turn of events, 20-year-old Sacharis Gathers from Braintree found himself in hot water after being arrested on Monday night in the area of Mass. and Cass in Boston. Gathers is facing serious charges of sex trafficking, deriving support from prostitution, and possession with intent to distribute a class B substance. The victim, who was identified from the advertisement, got out of the vehicle and headed to the agreed meeting spot. It was at this precise moment that Gathers was taken into custody by the vigilant detectives. Shockingly, they also found three plastic bags of crack cocaine in his possession.
Legal Proceedings
Gathers appeared in court on Tuesday and entered a plea of not guilty to the charges leveled against him. The judge set his bail at $50,000 with the condition of GPS monitoring and home confinement if he is released. The accused will have to wait until Feb. 12 for a probable cause hearing to determine the next steps in this troubling case.
