Boston police confirmed that their homicide unit is currently looking into the tragic death of a young boy in a Mattapan apartment. The 4-year-old, Sa’Doni Powell, was found unresponsive while he was at home with his father. The incident occurred earlier this month and has left the community in shock.
Sa’Doni’s mother, Genesis Parris, is heartbroken over the loss of her son. She recalls how excited Sa’Doni was for the upcoming summer and his first day of kindergarten in September. Unfortunately, he will never get to experience these milestones. Parris firmly believes that her son’s father is responsible for what happened, despite no criminal charges being filed against him at this time.
The Boston Police Department responded to a call about a cardiac arrest at the apartment on Hannon Street late at night on May 6. Sa’Doni was rushed to Boston Children’s Hospital but was pronounced dead the following morning. Parris arrived at the hospital to find her son with bruises and scratches, raising suspicions about the circumstances surrounding his death. She also mentioned that another one of her children who was with Sa’Doni’s father that night sustained injuries.
Parris is determined to seek justice for her son and has organized a fundraiser to cover the expenses of his funeral. She is devastated by the loss of Sa’Doni and hopes that the authorities will take action against the person she believes is responsible for his death. The investigation is ongoing, and Parris is anxiously awaiting the results of the autopsy to shed light on what really happened to her beloved son.
