Born in the Bronx, NY in 1941, Sarina’s life was a tapestry of remarkable experiences and meaningful connections. She shared a special bond with her brother, film actor Sal Mineo, and together, they worked tirelessly to raise awareness about polio and the importance of vaccination.
After graduating from Mamaroneck High School in 1960 and earning her B.A. in elementary education, Sarina embarked on a career as a teacher and reading specialist, touching the lives of countless students in New York, New Jersey, and Massachusetts. Her passion for education and nurturing young minds was evident in everything she did.
